Dream
Lyrics by Charlie Moose

New Day feeling down
Disenchanted with
The way your life has gone
Nothing seems to go my way
Feels like another day of wasting time
Greener pastures they lie ahead
Getting better as the time goes by I
Move forward leave the past behind
Waiting for my time to come
Comes a time in your life you'll find
That it's not what it seems
Jump back and take a deep breath
Just got to follow your dreams
Some things they just ain't fair
Some they have
And some they just have not
So take a look around
Be grateful for
everything you've got
One day it may be gone
And you will be alone
For now don't waste your life
Waiting for that time to come
Comes a time in your life you'll find
That it's not what it seems
Jump back and take a deep breath
Just got to follow your dreams

This tune starts out with a pair of acoustics, heavily flanged, panned hard left and right. The signature guitar riff was built around a G Major scale at the twelfth fret. If you listen closely to the first verse you'll hear some strings layered low in the mix to fatten things up a bit. The drums kick in for the first chorus, then it's back to the guitar riff. For the second verse I brought in the horn part to make things a little more interesting. The breakdown has this cool patch of my Korg X-3, I think it's called "neutron", that sounds pretty cool behind the vocal

The lyric sort of follows that old premise, " today is the first day of the rest of your life". No matter how bad things might seem at a particular time, you just have to move on and live for the moment, ya know follow your dreams. Sometimes when it seems everything is going against you that's when you really need to just step back, dust yourself off and jump right back in. Life is too short for could-haves, should-haves, and would-haves.
