Fly Lyrics by Charlie Moose Was a time When we were together Nothing between us Living our lives as one Now that's done Who'd have known This offered come along A paying gig For playing our songs And more What's in store Now I see a tear fall in your eye Knowin' that it's time we must fly Headin' out on the road Try to make a living Without selling Our souls Takes it's toll Dream of being with you Being alone the photos Just ain't the same Who's to blame Now I see a tear fall in your eye Knowing that it's time we must fly |
This one opens up with the tunes signature guitar riff, the riff returns again during the breaks and solo. Check out the walking bass line in verse two and the chorus They took a while to get, my hands are a little small and sometimes I have a little trouble with this type of bass line. The drums were recorded by Rich Duemmer my old drummer from Inner Light and The Rickey Rider Band. This was the first track Rich played on, I believe he played on Dream also. The lyric was written one day while sitting on the deck, after having a few too many. I was daydreaming about what it would be like to have that hit song, you know the one that just puts you over the top. Having to drop everything just jump on a bus and leave your home and loved ones behind, not knowing if things would ever be the same when you returned. When we were younger it would have been so easy but the older you get the more difficult it will be to make that move. |
