You and I Lyrics by Teddy Kotch If you could feel my heart You'd feel a fire Burning deep inside I Learned that Life's too short And it's a bumpy ride You and I said we'd Take on this world together We were best of friends We were more like brothers Sometimes we laughed Sometimes we cried But things always Got better Today we live Tomorrow die I'm so glad we spent This life together You and I I think of all The days gone by And memories That won't disappear But I'm left here standing With the pain and tears Now it's not the same Those plans they've rearranged But I know We'll be together in the end Sometimes we laughed Sometimes we cried But things always Got better Today we live Tomorrow die I'm so glad we spent This life together You and I |
This tune was written by me and a good
friend Teddy Kotch. We wrote this song together in memory of the late Richie
Gough. Richie was a good friend of ours who passed away quite a few years
ago, he had Hodgkin's disease. Richie was a singer-songwriter, guitarist,
and drummer. He loved sports the Yankees,Giants ,and Rangers especially and
was a fierce competitor. As a musician Richie taught me so much. He was
always a stickler for details. He taught me how to disect a song and analyze
it piece by piece. He was a perfectionist who expected no less than
perfection from anyone he associated with. Richie was in the prime of his
life when he died. It really sucks when you lose someone at such a young age
especially when it is someone you knew you would have spent the rest of your
life with. I could just see me and Richie at 65 years old sitting on the
porch drinking a beer, jamming on some old AC/DC watching the Yankees on the
TV. A lot of people have come in and out of my life over the years but I
know if he was still here we would be inseparable, like brothers. Some
people say as time goes by the feelings fade, but not so with Richie. I miss
him more and more every day. The older I get the more I realize,in my
lifetime people will come and go but there will be a few friends who I will
have this special connection with . Richie was one of them. I miss him
dearly and look forward to seeing him again someday.
