At age 12 Charlie received his
first electric guitar it was a Les Paul copy given to him for
Christmas by his parents. Then on July, 25th 1979 everything changed,
from that day forward Charlie's life would never be the same! "You
wanted the best you got the best" That's right KISS at The Garden!
Charlie's mom and dad had agreed to take Charlie and a handful of
friends to see KISS, and according to Charlie, "It was that day more
than any other that set me on course to bring me where I sit today".
Charlie is not really sure if it was the music, the lights, the show,
or the high he got of the all the second hand smoke from the weed
being passed up and down the row, but what ever it was he was hooked,
and even though a few years down the road he would meet the band and
sit and jam with Paul Stanley, Charlie still sites this as the most
influential day of his life.
Throughout high school Charlie
jammed with many local musicians. Then in 1983 he joined the band
Burnt Offering to share guitar duties with Nicky DeBerto. The band
played extensively in NY and NJ and managed to build up quite a
following. It was with Burnt Offering that Charlie would get his first
experience in the recording studio. In "87" Charlie and the late
Richie Gough left Burnt Offering to form a new band Shannon. After
recording a demo under the name Shannon and some member changes the
band would eventually become Daizy Chain. Daizy chain experienced much
success through the late 80's and early 90's playing to packed houses
throughout the Tri State area sharing the stage with bands such as LA
Guns, Kings X, Trixter, Danger Danger , and Survivor to name a few.
Eventually musical styles began to change and the band went it's
separate ways. Charlie then went on to play guitar as a hired gun for
the original / cover project The Ricky Rider Band in the mid 90's.
Some time around "97" Charlie hooked up with Tim Trojan to form the
band Inner Light. It was at this time Charlie began building "The Moo"
a pro tools equipped 64 track state of the art recording studio. The
band would record their first release Truth or Justice at the
facility. The band was picked up by Freedom Records an independent
label and the record did very well for an indie release. The band
eventually went there separate ways some time in "02" which puts
Charlie where he sits today fronting the high energy Rock & Roll
outfit known as QUICK!
